Graduate Studies in the Science Communication Discipline

Research students often choose a scientific issue and research the existing communication strategies or unmet information needs by analysing the context in which the issue is embedded. This might mean an analysis of relevant messages in the media, an investigation of existing attitudes, beliefs, or cultural practices that impede or enhance uptake of the science, research into perceptions of expertise, power and motivations, or an investigation into the cognitive processes involved in decision making. Some students evaluate an existing science communication initiative.
